Occupational Risk Management (HIRARC) Training
About The Course
It shall be the duty of every employer to ensure so far as is practicable the safety, health and welfare at work of his employees. This provision is clearly stated in Section 15, OSHA 1994 as the General Duties of Employers.
In order to ensure the safety and health aspects of his/her employees, the employer needs to conduct proactive measures in preventing occupational incidents from happening. These proactive measures can be done through the Risk Management process or Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC).
In the OSH (Amendment) Act 2022 which will be enacted soon, Risk Management has its own provision which is in the new Section 18B. Through this amended act, those employers who fail to conduct Risk Management can be fined up to half a million ringgit.
So, Risk Management is very important to be conducted either in preventing occupational incidents from happening or in complying with the legal requirements.
Not to mention, what type of challenges will the new OSH (Amendment) Act 2022 present for stakeholders and interested parties of the new Act, particularly multinational companies, local companies, and small and medium industries.
